To Sage
I want to make poster from Letterpress to honor one of my good friends. I wrote her a poem and it helps me keep her memory alive.
Why I choose Sage for my Project?
Sage is a type of mint under the 'herbarium' category. Sage is a way to describe a person that gives wisdom. I found out that my friend Sage who also had the same name as this herb. Sage gave wisdom to my family.
Her name is Sage Lindsay. I wrote poem to honor her. She was more like my sister. The color blue is symbol of a rare ovarian cancer that she passed away from in 2019. The color purple was her favorite.

What is the process of printing?
First Step of Printing (Collage)
The 1st step is to use pressure printing through low, relief collage on a sheet of paper that is placed beneath the page that I will print on. I tested the print quality which machine I will use to print my final.
Second Step of Printing (Color)
I used the color blue to represent her cancer that she was diagnosed with. I mixed a couple different inks until I found the right color to print on.
Final Step of Printing (Text)
After printing the sage flower, the next step was to find the font used to print on the paper. I used 18 pt Bernhard Gothic Light. I chose the color purple that was Sage's favorite color.
